SUPERMARKET chiefs at Tesco’s Worcester Road store proved ‘every little helps’ when it hosted Evesham’s Relay for Life.
Last year’s Cancer Research UK fund-raiser was cancelled due to the pandemic and this year with uncertainty still about volunteers decided to carry out a mini-relay at the Evesham store.
Teams including Joy’s Joggers, Team Tesco and Pershore Phoenix Dragon Boat Club walked a short track through the car park and along Worcester Road to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.
A total of £1,300 was raised on the day and Lindsay Roach, Tesco Community Champion, thanked customers for their generous donations.
“It was great to see teams walking in the rain to fight for research. Cancer doesn’t sleep so we will keep going no matter what,” she said.
