Dedicated Emma chosen as new Conservative candidate

Evesham Editorial 2nd Apr, 2021   0

CONSERVATIVE chiefs have named Bengeworth district councillor Emma Stokes as the party’s new candidate for Evesham South.

Coun Stokes has represented Bengeworth on Wychavon District Council for 18 years and hopes to continue her long-service in the County Hall poll on May 6.

The committed campaigner has served as a member of Wychavon’s executive board as the portfolio holder for Environment, Recycling and Street Scene since 2013.

Living in Evesham South, Coun Stokes said she was acutely aware of the issues residents face and hopes voters give her the opportunity to work with them.

“I’ve proudly represented Bengeworth on Wychavon District Council since 2003 and I will continue to do so, but I also feel I have more to give by being Evesham South’s voice at County Hall,” she said

“Living in the division myself, I am deeply committed to Evesham and I would welcome an opportunity to represent you on the County Council.”

Away from politics, Coun Stokes runs her own business and is also a Slimming World consultant.
