College drinks enterprise hits the Press

AN AWARD-winning college drinks enterprise in Pershore has received unanimous praise from industry experts following a comprehensive overhaul of its brand and labelling.

For more than 20 years, Pershore College has been producing fresh-pressed fruit juice, and craft cider and perry, using fruit from its own orchard, and in collaboration with local growers.

Pershore Press has been created to celebrate the traditional production methods used by the college, its proud association with the town of Pershore, and the horticultural heritage of the Vale of Evesham.

As a commercial enterprise of Pershore College, which is part of WCG, sales of produce make a direct contribution to education in Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

As the demand for high-quality local produce continues to increase, the college is in a perfect position to strengthen the existing reputation of its products.

With attractive new labelling, a new website, and two new premium craft ciders launched, the response from customers and retailers has been overwhelmingly positive.

Pershore Press development manager Richard Toft, has been delighted with the response from customers and the industry as a whole.

He said: “Our single variety and blended juice, cider, and perry has earned an excellent reputation, as well as industry accolades, for its outstanding quality and taste.

“Now, at a time when the craft cider movement is gathering a global following, and demand for high-quality local produce is increasing, our traditional production processes, our orchard, our collaboration with local growers, and our specialist bottling services offer an excellent opportunity for further growth.

“Our rebrand to Pershore Press will help us make the most of that opportunity whilst staying true to our craft principals, and representing a well-respected college.

“We’ve already had huge support and an overwhelmingly positive response from customers, retailers, and industry experts, and with our juice labelling to be revised over the summer, we’re fortunate and glad to have a light shining at the end of the 2020 tunnel.”
