THREE men have been jailed for a combined total of more than 25 years after being found guilty of the robbery of the Co-Op on Davies Road in Evesham.

Reece Davies, 25, of Boscobel Avenue, Tipton, Ashley Evans, 31, of Vale Street, West Bromwich and Andrew Fellows, 54, of Cypress Road, Walsall, were each jailed for eight years and six months for robbery today (Thursday).

The trio were found guilty after a two week trial at Hereford Crown Court in December 2019. Latoria Lunnon, 21, of Hipton Hill, Evesham, was sentenced to a 12 month community order on December 13 for concealment of criminal property.

West Mercia Police were called at about 10pm on Sunday, July 7 last year by the store manager who described how three men had attacked the premises, threatening staff at knifepoint before taking large sum of money.

Officers searched a nearby house the following day and discovered weapons and items linked to the crime which were seized. The trio were arrested and charged later that day.

Det Insp Tony Garner from Worcester CID said: “These men subjected innocent people who worked in the local supermarket to a horrific ordeal.

“Evans, Fellows and Davis planned and entered the Co-op store with a knife forcing staff to open the till and safe.”

“The incidents have had a significant and lasting impact on the victims and their families. Businesses have been affected and the community shaken by the incident.

“The victims have shown great bravery in supporting this investigation and ensuring this conviction,” he added.
