MEMORIES of the Wood Norton’s former life as a BBC site before it became a retirement home were on offer as part of a reunion afternoon tea.
Former Beeb staff John Barlow and Neil Dormand hosted a presentation for Richmond Villages Wood Norton’s residents and shared their memories of life working for the BBC.
During the event, residents were given keepsakes such as a detailed map showcasing the former layout of the site, including BBC studios, film units and radio stations, further bringing to life the steep history of the Richmond Villages Wood Norton location.
Families, friends and ex-employees were all treated to a premium dining experience at the luxurious retirement village where attendees enjoyed various beverages, including an afternoon tea.
“It was such a nostalgic and enjoyable experience being able to visit back to the place which contributed to a large part of my career,” Mr Barlow said.
“Having the opportunity to share my experiences at the village with those who now get the benefit from the beautiful site was a truly fulfilling experience.”
Mr Dormand said: “The site means much to me personally to this day and being able to visit it and see how it has developed over the years was a full-circle nostalgic experience.”
