Carnival hand-out reaches £4,000

ALMOST £4,000 was handed over to good causes as the Vale of Evesham Round Table presented money raised from this year’s Evesham Carnival.

A total of £3,850 was raised from the popular event on June 30 when hundreds took to the streets to celebrate local groups in a packed day of events.

Local groups and charities sent representatives to the cheque presentation evening held at the Evesham Town Hall where Adam Spiers, chairman of Evesham Carnival, handed out the cheques.

Carnival queen Olivia Hancock was in attendance as cheques were presented to each of the participants of the float parade for their nominated charities.

Mr Spiers thanked all those who had taken part for their hard work.

“The Evesham Carnival is only made possible due to two main factors – the hard work of the local community committee supported by the Vale of Evesham Round Table and the generosity of many local people and businesses. Special thanks to all of the hauliers who provided the vehicles for the floats to be built on which really brought the carnival to life,” he said.

“I would like to thank everyone for their continued support in the carnival, without which this event would not be possible to host or to support so many local charities of the town.”
