A FAULTY cable has been identified as the cause of a power cut across Evesham, Harvington and Badsey which saw a total of 1,733 customers without electricity.
Western Power Distribution have confirmed 1,733 homes in the WR11 postcode were left in the dark just after 10pm last night (Monday) because of the fault.
“We now know this was due to a cable fault, which our team will be actively looking into now,” a spokesperson said.
“We were able to bring these 737 of these customers back within three minutes thankfully, but a large number of customers remained without power.
“Out of the 956 remaining, we managed to get all but one property back with power within the initial hour.
“The remaining property was back online by 11.15 pm.”
