Crochet experts to novice knitters have all ben in invited to JellyPickleJam Vintage Tea and Gift Shop in Vine Mews from 10am to 4pm tomorrow (Saturday) for the sixth annual Yarn Shop Day.

The event has been organised by leading publication Let’s Knit Magazine in a bid to celebrate Britain’s much-loved independent wool shops.

“We’re very happy to be taking part,” said Lisa Whelan, owner of JellyPickleJam.

“Knitting and crochet are growing in popularity, and customers rely on their local yarn shop for more than just needles and wool. It’s a place to get advice and feel part of a crafting community.”

Local knitting and crochet tutor Hazel Townley will be on hand from 2pm to host her weekly workshop for those who’d like to try their hand or get help with tricky patterns, stitches or projects.

The exclusive Yarn Shop Day Sweet Surprise blanket pattern will be available free for all who attend

“We are looking forward to welcoming customers old and new through the door for an exciting day of yarn-based fun. We hope local knitters and crocheters will come along and show their support for bricks-and-mortar yarn stores,” Lisa added.
