A LEADING county auctioneer has led the anger after a young Malvern boy had his honesty box stolen by heartless thieves

Philip Serrell spoke out after five-year-old Harry saw his money and stock stolen. The youngster sells chicken eggs near Rosebud Meadow and asks for passers-by to leave money in a pot in exchange for a box of six eggs.

But the young entrepreneur saw both the cash and his stock taken by cold-hearted thieves.

Writing on Twitter, Mr Serrell said: “They will probably be too ashamed to return either but if they get to read this I hope it costs them a few nights sleep.”

The news provoke an outpouring of anger on social media with many expressing sympathy for the youngster and offering to reimburse the five-year-old for his losses.

Among those to comment was the Rev Richard Coles who said: “Please wish Harry the best and reassure him that despite the occasional disappointment, most people will want to be customers rather than robbers.”
