Air ambulance called out after man rescued from river

AN AIR ambulance was called out after a man fell into the River Avon in Evesham.

Emergency services were called to Workman Gardens at about 6.22pm yesterday evening.

The man, believed to be in his 40s, had managed to get himself out of the water.

Hereford and Worcester Fire Service sent two water rescue vehicles from Worcester and Droitwich to the scene, as well as water first responders from Evesham and Malvern.




He was given trauma care by fire crews before paramedics arrived on the scene.

One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham also attended.


He was assessed by paramedics before being discharged at the scene.
