THE director of Public Health in Worcestershire has urged people to ‘stay safe’ when meeting others outdoors for a catch-up.
Coronavirus restrictions were again eased on Monday (March 29) and for the first time since January people are now allowed to meet outside – including in private gardens – in groups of up to six people or as two households.
The stay at home rule also comes to an end, although anyone who can work from home is still urged to do so.
Director of Public Health, Dr Kathryn Cobain, said: “We can begin to reunite with family and friends. I know how much we have all missed seeing our loved ones during the last year, and how much we are all missing the day to day normal life we would usually be leading.
“I know this is a huge milestone for us all but it is really important we do all we can do to stay safe whilst we are seeing and catching up with others. I know you are well aware of the Hand, Face, Space steps, by now it has become a part of all our everyday lives.
“Our vaccine programme in Worcestershire is progressing well, giving us real reasons for positivity and hope as we look forward to the Spring and even further ahead.
“Our vaccine take up remains high and I would encourage all those eligible to take up the offer of a vaccine when it is offered to you.
“These rule changes are a step in the right direction, brighter times are ahead.
“Please remember your actions now will shape our future. Please continue to do all you can to stay safe, follow the guidelines as we look forward.”
