APT - Action On Poverty

APT Action on Poverty transforms the lives of thousands of poor and vulnerable people by helping them to help themselves. APT gives them the skills to work in or start up their own small enterprises so that they can generate an income for their basic needs, such as food and medicine and education for their children. APT also promotes social change so that disadvantaged people, such as disabled men and women and those affected by HIV/AIDS, can participate fully in society and become useful members of their communities. Cats Protection League

The Evesham branch was set up in 1982 at the rear of a vet’s surgery but in 1989 the organization was forced to move. It was given space to rent by the National Canine Defence League in Wickhamford. “It has taken us several years to achieve what we have today and we are extremely proud of our rescue centre.” Area Co-ordinator Angela Middleton.

Evesham Sea Cadet Unit

The unit is run entirely by volunteers on a Monday and Thursday evening from 1900 to 2100. We take any child aged 10 to 18, dyslexia and hyper-activity are not barriers to joining the unit. Things we do include sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, also we teach marine engineering, seamanship, drill, communications, first aid, cooking and all sorts of other fun activities for teenagers.
