Youngsters at Bourton-on-the-Water Primary School are getting to grips with the physical game of Gaelic Football as part of a scheme to launch the game in England.
Headteacher John Jones said: "The Gaelic Games Association is trying to launch the game in England and we are one of four schools having a go at it.
"The plan is that we have a competition at the end of the month and then the winner goes to a South West finals in Wales."
Gaelic football is one of the two most popular spectator sports in Ireland, players kick or strike the ball with their hand in attempt to get the ball through H-shaped goals at either end of the rectangular grass pitch.
Players can move with the ball by carrying it, soloing, which means dropping the ball and toe-kicking it back into their hands, or by passing it to their team mates.
