Winnie the Pooh is Back on DVD

Disney Animation Studios is releasing the newest Winnie the Pooh movie on DVD and Blu Ray very soon! Fans of Pooh Bear and all his friends in hundred acre wood are all looking forward to bringing this very special movie back home to join Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Owl, Rabbit, Kanga, Roo and of course Christopher Robin on their brand new adventure.

"Winnie the Pooh" is first movie to star Pooh Bear in over 30 years and is a step back to the classic original Winnie the Pooh animation. This new movie was developed using exclusively hand drawn animation techniques in a direct step away from the high-tech digital 3D movies which are dominating our cinemas today. It is also a step away from the 3D-esque animation used in the most recent Winnie the Pooh animated TV series "My Friends Tigger and Pooh" which was aired between 2007 and 2010. "Winnie the Pooh" is also narrated as per the original Pooh cartoon, by none other than British actor John Cleese, a nod to the British heritage of the Winnie the Pooh stories, as well as using the storybook itself to tell the story. In parts of the new movie the animals interact with the pages of the book with some interesting consequences. At one point one of Eeyore's "tails" snags the letter on the page and he pulls the words out from underneath Piglet's feet, who tumbles to the bottom of the page!

The story begins with Winnie the Pooh looking for some hunny to stop the rumbling in his tumbly, but Pooh soon stumbles upon Eeyore who has lost his tail. Pooh takes Eeyore to Christopher Robin who organises a competition to find a new tail for Eeyore, with the prize a huge pot of hunny!

Christopher Robin disappears in the course of the movie and the animals of hundred acre wood, helped by the intellectual Owl, discover that he has been taken by the terrible beast the "Backson"! Lead by Rabbit, the animals mount a rescue mission to find Christopher Robin and capture the Backson.

The story of "Winnie the Pooh" is taken from a selection of three short stories from "Winnie-the-Pooh", "The House at Pooh Corner" and "Return to Hundred Acre Wood". "Winnie the Pooh" is the first Pooh movie to have a story created at one plot. Previous films have been a mixture of previously created animation. "The Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh" was one such film, and was also the last movie personally overseen by Walt Disney himself. It therefore holds a special place in the hearts of Disney fans across the world. It is said that Disney wanted to create a brand new film, however due to the economical constraints of the time, this was not possible. "Winnie the Pooh" is a tribute to Walt's wishes and therefore will stand alongside the original Pooh movie in Disney heritage.

Get your "Winnie the Pooh" DVD as soon as it is released, and introduce your children of all ages to the lovable golden teddy bear, Pooh.
