A MAN suspected of stabbing an Evesham barman has been arrested by police after being on the run for more than a month.

Peter O'Shaughnessy was wanted for questioning about the knife attack at Chancers in Vine Street on Wednesday, December 19 in which the victim received a serious wound to his hand and forearm.

After a series of appeals by West Mercia Police to trace the 31-year-old, O'Shaughnessy was finally arrested in his home city of Liverpool by officers from Merseyside Police today (Wednesday) at 11am.

O'Shaughnessy, who also goes by the name of Pierre, is now in the custody of Cheshire Constabulary who want to interview him about a crime in their area when a man was robbed of his car at knifepoint.

He will be handed over to West Mercia Police once he has been questioned in Cheshire.
