A PERSHORE man has been banned from entering all bars and pubs in the town.
Christian Bond, 32, was given a two year Conviction Related Anti Social Behaviour Order (CRASBO) in August at Worcester Magistrates Court which came into effect yesterday (Thursday) when he was released from prison.
Bond was convicted of possessing three kitchen knives in a public place and threatening to burn down someone's house which both related to an incident on July 26 last year.
He was sentenced to a year in jail but was released on licence after six months.
The order means Bond is not allowed to enter or attempt to enter any premise in Pershore licensed for the consumption of alcohol excluding restaurants.
He is also prohibited from being drunk in a public place, buying alcohol in a public place excluding licensed premises or possessing alcohol in an open container or open vessel in a public place and behaving in a way likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
Other restrictions include using threatening words or behaviour, swearing or using abusive language or gestures towards others and using aggressive or intimidating behaviour.
PC John Hunter, a Safer Neighbourhoods Officer for Pershore, said: "I have known Bond since the 90s and he has admitted to me before that he has a drink problem.
"He is a nuisance when drunk. Many members of the public in Pershore have been caused harassment, alarm and distress, and he has already been barred from most pubs in Pershore.
"While he is a pleasant young man when sober, when he has had a drink he becomes violent, threatening and abusive and his language is vile. He cannot control himself and does not care who hears his abuse, including children.
"There have been numerous occasions when police have been called to deal with him and he has been arrested on four occasions in the last two years.
"I obtained an anti-social behaviour order against Bond in 2007, which ran for two years and was very effective and resulted in only one police incident in that time.
"However, since that expired there has been a recent escalation of disorder and threats to the public, always involving drink, and his family has also suffered from his behaviour.
"Along with his time in prison, I hope this new Order will make Bond think twice about his behaviour and how it has affected others, including his family, and help him mend his ways.
"Although, if you see him drunk in a public place or drinking in any of the pubs or bars in Pershore, please contact West Mercia Police and we can take action."
Anyone with concerns or information about Christian Bond possibly breaching his CRASBO should call police on 101.
