EVESHAM Ambulance station is set to go on sale next week with a price tag of £600,000.

The sale of the station in Davies Road is part of West Midland's Ambulance Service's Make Ready reorganisation which will see the creation of two 24/7 fleet maintenance hubs in Worcester and Lickey End where teams prepare, service and maintain the ambulances.

Evesham will have a new Community Ambulance Station but it is not yet known where it will be based in the town.

The remainder of the county's traditionally owned stations are also set to be sold and replaced by a network of community ambulance stations which will be leased rather than owned. Bosses say the new stations will be lower maintenance with lower running costs and be better spread throughout the county.
