Pilkington XXX 3 Pershore Town 3
Midland Combination Premier Division
PERSHORE Town continued their improving form with a hard earned point at Pilkington XXX on Saturday.
Pershore took the lead after ten minutes when Richard Congrave scored with a fine free kick from the edge of the box, but the hosts levelled on the half hour mark when clever footwork by Carter saw him run on and shoot past Town keeper Oliver.
However, it was the visitors who took a lead into the break as new signing Chris Bright scored from another free kick from the edge of the area five minutes before half time.
Pilkington got back on level terms for a second time in the 48th minute when a ball was lofted over the visiting rearguard and eventually converted.
Their comeback was completed in the 65th minute when a free kick was headed home by centre back James, but Pershore had the final say to earn a point when a free kick from Bright was powerfully headed into the net by Town centre back Craig Selby.
Fourteenth placed Pershore have a chance to maintain their momentum when they entertain second bottom Castle Vale JKS tomorrow.
