A FORMER antiques shop in Pershore looks set to be demolished to make way for new homes.

Keen Building Contractors has submitted a planning application to Wychavon District Council to build eight houses on the site of SW Antiques in Newlands.

The showroom which was in the town for more than 30 years, closed its doors for good in March last year after its owners decided not to renew its lease.

After the proposed demolition, the land will be used for eight two bedroom houses including space for off-road parking and a number of trees.

A decision on whether or not the proposals can go ahead is expected to be made later in the year.
