A MAN suspected of stabbing an Evesham barman has been placed on West Mercia Police's most wanted list.

Police are still hunting for 31-year-old Peter O'Shaughnessy in connection with the knife attack which took place in Chancers in Vine street on Wednesday, December 19 about 11.25pm.

The victim sustained a serious wound to his hand and forearm and was taken to hospital in a serious condition. He has since been discharged.

O'Shaughnessy lives in Blackacre Road in Halewood, Liverpool and also goes by the name of Pierre. Last month police put a £500 reward on offer to anyone who provides information which leads to his arrest.

Detective Sergeant Pete Sherwood said: "Our inquiries into the assault have continued over the Christmas period and we are doing all we can to find Peter O'Shaughnessy.

"Adding his details to our Wanted page indicates how serious we are treating the offence. We need to find and speak with Mr O'Shaughnessy.

"He is believed to be dangerous and we advise that, if anyone knows or encounters O'Shaughnessy, they should not under any circumstances approach or challenge him.

"If you are aware of his whereabouts, please contact West Mercia Police immediately on 999."

The West Mercia Wanted Page can be viewed here: http://www.westmercia.police.uk/wanted/.

Any other information can be passed on by contacting the non-emergency police number 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
