Pershore Town 3 Brocton 1
Midland Combination Premier Division
PERSHORE gained a thoroughly deserved three points with an impressive win over eighth placed Brocton on Saturday.
The hosts took a 15th minute lead with a good move which ended with Zac Blood's cross cum shot falling to Sean Cook who rounded the keeper before scoring.
Pershore then doubled their advantage on the half hour mark when Richard Congrave's bursting run saw him release Blood who crossed for Scott Finnegan to score with a header.
Pershore maintained their grip on proceedings in the second half and put the outcome beyond doubt when Blood's corner was fumbled into the net by the Brocton keeper in the 60th minute.
Joe Pickering scored a fine consolation goal ten minutes from time but by this stage there was to be no denying Pershore, who visit Pilkington XXX tomorrow seeking a fourth league win of the season.
