THE FAMILY of a former village postmaster killed in a crash near Pinvin have said his death has left a huge gap in their lives.
Inderjit Singh Ojalae died after he was thrown from the Ford Transit van he was driving after it collided with a cement lorry on the B4082 at Seaford on November 24.
The 45-year-old, known to his family and friends as Inda, was a devoted father to David, 21, Amreetha, 19 and Kirandeep, aged 17.
He was well known in Pinvin where he previously ran the village post office but at the time of his death he had been temporarily living in Birmingham and working as a sub-contractor for Yodel.
He also worked at Rover Longbridge for many years and had recently opened up a gym.
As well as his children, Mr Ojalae leaves behind his mother, brother and four sisters.
Paying tribute on the day of his funeral last Friday (December 7), his family said they were devastated by his sudden death.
"Inda was fun loving, outgoing, full of life and passionate in everything he did. Music played a huge role in his life," they said.
"Inda had many interests such as body-building and cars. He had a love for animals and was also a fan of Liverpool football club. In his younger years, Inda was an award winning break dancer locally known as ‘Force 10'.
"An ambitious man with a big heart, Inda loved life and lived it to the full. He inspired a lot of people to fulfil their dreams.
"He will be dearly missed and his death has left a huge gap in our lives. His sense of humour will never be forgotten and his memory will live on."
Officers are still investigating the circumstances of the collision and are keen to hear from anyone who saw it happen, or either of the vehicles involved before the crash occurred.
