CAST members of Aladdin, this year's pantomime at The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury, brought a touch of magic to Evesham as they helped open the popular festive skating rink.

Dressed from head to toe in their dazzling costumes the performers took a break from the stage and delighted the crowds in Market Place last Friday (December 7).

This fantastical pantomime transports the audience from the streets of Tewkesbury to a faraway land where street urchin Aladdin is tricked into an enchanted cave in search of a magic lamp. Out pops an all powerful genie – and in a puff of smoke, Aladdin’s life is changed forever. But not if the wicked Abanazar has his way.

Expect comic mayhem as Aladdin, Wishee Washee and their furry black and white side kick, Tyson, cause chaos as they battle to keep hold of the lamp and win the beautiful Princess Jasmine.

Complete with sparkling sets to transfix imaginations, lavish costumes fit for a princess, a cascade of pyrotechnics that sparkle and flash, and a Christmas cracker full of jokes, this traditional pantomime is a magical carpet ride of an adventure.

Aladdin runs at The Roses Theatre until Saturday, January 5.
