Hi: 8° Lo:2° 7 day

LEGENDARY comedian Jim Davidson is to perform his new stand-up show in Evesham next year, it has been announced.
The comic, well known for presenting popular Saturday night shows such as The Generation Game and Big Break, will take to the stage at the Evesham Arts Centre on March 29 as part of his UK tour titled 'Jim Davidson: The Legend'.
The announcement comes after the Evesham Arts Centre team unveiled its Spring line-up for next year.
As well as Davidson, TV and radio presenter Marcus Brigstocke also makes a special visit to the town in April when he performs his hotly new anticipated show The Brig Society.
Comedian Brigstocke is currently enjoying mainstream success after appearing in TV shows such as Have I Got News For You and Jack Dee's Live at the Apollo series. He also played a cameo role in Richard Curtis' blockbuster movie Love Actually.
The centre's regular stand-up comedy night is back in February when top club comics Andrew Bird, Juliet Myers, Chris Turner and Tudur Owens provide the laughter and lift some of the winter gloom.
Also appearing at the Victoria Avenue venue in the coming months will be the accomplished musicians of GaGa who return with their top tribute to Queen. In contrast, Evesham Music Club present the Aurora Wind Ensemble and the Florin Ensemble in March and April respectively.
There is also something for theatre fans as Evesham's Pheonix Theatre Group perform their panto of Mother Goose in January and students from Prince Henry's High School take to the stage with 'The Taming of the Shrew' in March.
A fortnight later sees Evesham Operatic and Dramatic Society stage the huge and magical Disney show Beauty and the Beast.
And there's even more when the Evesham Decorative and Fine Arts Society present expert talks on the art of Sandro Botticelli and Lady Emma Hamilton in January and February respectively.
Tickets for most shows are available now by visiting www.eveshamartscentre.co.uk or by calling 01386 446944.
Printed copies of the new Spring 2013 programme have been sent to Evesham Arts Centre members and can also be found in tourist information centres, theatres, libraries and cafés across the county.
