A FINANCIAL firm from the Vale fought off stiff competition from all corners of the country to land themselves one of the most respected awards in the industry.
Staff at McCarthy Taylor Ltd, which has an office in Evesham, were delighted after collecting the highly sought-after Incisive Media Gold Standard for Independent Financial Advice gong during a special ceremony at the House of Commons on Tuesday, November 21.
The firm, which offers professional independent financial advice to clients across the UK, impressed the judges in areas including business structure, service, value for money and trust.
Company director Philip Haden accepted the award on the night and said it was a huge honour for the firm to have been chosen for the award.
"It is great testament to all our staff that we have won this coveted Gold award," he said.
"These awards are designed to identify companies that not only have strong structures and procedures in place but are going above and beyond standard business practises to promote trust in the financial services sector.
"It is wonderful that the work we carry out to ensure our clients get the very best advice and the greatest return on their investments has been recognised."
The awards ceremony is run by Incisive Media and its Group Editorial Director, Lawrence Gosling said competition had been fierce.
"McCarthy Taylor has a strong focus on doing their own research and a very clear philosophy about their financial planning approach," he said.
"It is not easy to get these awards. Some companies enter year after year and have not reached a high enough standard."
