Hi: 14° Lo:3° 7 day

THERE was more misery of a different kind for Evesham United on Saturday as a floodlight failure at the Jubilee Stadium put paid to the Robins' chances of ending a four-game losing streak in Evo-Stik Southern League Division One South & West.
Paul West's side were in cruise control as they led visitors Wimborne Town 3-0 after 37 minutes but then the lights went out - literally - and the match was abandoned, meaning their search for a first win since late October continues.
The irony was that the match was one of only three from ten games in the division to go ahead as the wet weather wreaked havoc with the fixture list.
Debutant striker Carl Brown, recruited from Bishops Cleeve, fired the hosts into an eighth minute lead with a clever back-heel following David Kalonji's good run and cross.
Two goals in as many minutes then put Evesham firmly in command as a corner from the left eventually fell to defender Henry Eze who volleyed home from the edge of the box before the impressive Brown bagged his second with a close range finish to convert Lee Osborne's cross.
Top scorer Marcus Palmer rattled the Wimborne crossbar before the Jubilee Stadium fell into darkness to bring a premature end to proceedings.
Before the match family and friends of former United player Neil Emms joined fans in observing a minute's silence and laying flowers in the centre circle following his untimely death on November 16.
The mid-table Robins are, weather permitting, due to visit Shortwood United on Tuesday.
