WORKERS at Evesham Garden Centre will be swapping their spades for the catwalk next week to raise funds for a charity close to their hearts.
Adam Mould, Anita Bailey and Jackie Virgo have organised a fashion show next Wednesday (November 21) at Evesham Arts Centre which they hope will raise plenty for Dementia UK.
Anita's husband Trevor was diagnosed with early onset vascular dementia more than five years ago which since has had a profound effect on their family life.
Proceeds from the night will go to the Admiral Nurse Service, part of Dementia UK, which acts as a support lifeline for carers of those with the illness.
The pair organised a similar show last year which turned out to be a huge success. And Adam hopes history will repeat itself again this time around.
"This year we have decided to host the event at Evesham Arts Centre and we are hoping to fill all the seats," he said. "After the success of last year's event at the Applebarn Restaurant we thought a bigger venue would be necessary.
"Anita's life has changed dramatically over the last few years since Trevor was diagnosed. Anita has needed a lot of support in many ways from the Admiral Nurse service that Dementia UK provide and without it Anita would not have been able to cope.
"Last year many local businesses and other community groups supported the fashion show as widely as possible and I hope we can do the same again."
Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.30pm, cost £10 (£8 for concessions) and are available by calling 01386 446944 or 01386 761888.
