A VALE village is set for a tasty treat with the return of a fish and chip shop after a 40 year wait.
The traditional taste of one of Britain's favourite take away food returns to Broadway next week with the opening of a brand new shop on the High Street.
Russell’s Fish & Chips will open its doors for the first time next Thursday (November 8) serving eat-in or take-away meals including traditional fish and chips and weekly specials.
Chip shop owner Andrew Riley grew up in Broadway and enjoyed trips to the local chip shop as a child. But then it closed and over the years he has long wanted to bring the traditional fare back to the picturesque village.
"Everyone loves fish and chips and I’m really happy to be bringing it back to Broadway after all this time," he said. "You can choose good old-fashioned fish and chips or a more upmarket option from our menu.
"We hope people from the village and surrounding areas will come along and treat themselves. It will be ideal for a family night out or a get-together for a group of friends. Or you can pick up a meal to take home.”
"Russell’s Fish & Chips is situated around the corner from Russell’s: A Restaurant With Rooms which is also owned by Andrew and his wife Gaynor.
The Fish and Chip shop winter opening hours will be between 12pm until 2.30pm and 5pm until 8.30pm, Tuesdays to Saturdays.
