Hi: 23° Lo:9° 7 day

A THEATRE production of one of Britain's most loved television programmes comes to Cheltenham next week.
Kneehigh Theatre Company return to the Everyman Theatre in Regent Street with their very own, unique take on legendary TV sitcom Steptoe and Son between Tuesday (October 30) and Saturday (November 3).
Written by Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, the TV sitcom tells the story of father and son Albert and Harold Steptoe who are bound together by birth, business and bad luck. The pair wake up every morning to the same old sickening sight of each other.
Joined at the hip and heart, they bother, bicker and banter their way through life – toying with each other’s frailties like mean kittens.
And this witty, enjoyable and eccentric adaptation from Kneehigh charts the tender, cruel and surprising dance of father and son. Bound by duty, fear and poverty, they are watched over by their female Guardian Angel.
She tries to save them and tries to turn their heads to the heavens but those stubborn old work horses just won’t budge an inch.
Shows start at 7.45pm with special afternoon performances on Thursday (November 1) and Saturday (November 3) at 2pm.
Tickets for the show start at £10 and are available by calling the Everyman Theatre Box Office on 01242 572573 or by visiting www.everymantheatre.org.uk.
