A YOUNG singing sensation from the Vale could be set for stardom after reaching the grand final of a national talent competition.

Eleven-year-old Aimee Robinson Clayton, from Norton near Evesham, will battle it out against other young hopefuls and perform in front of celebrity judges over the weekend of November 9 to 11 in the final of 'Park Holidays Got Talent' to be held in 'The Venue' near Colchester.

The talented youngster sailed into the final after winning first place in one of a series of shows on Saturday (October 13) at Dawlish Warren in Devon after wowing judges with her version of 'Feeling Good' made famous by Nina Simone.

The competition has been organised by Park Holidays UK who have run a series of shows from April in a bid to find the UK's young stars of the future.

Aimee has been singing since the age of two and has developed her vocal skills by being a member of Evesham based performing arts group Vital Statistics Theatre Company.

The youngster's win proved a special moment for her mum Sue who saw her win first place at the very same venue she appeared on stage for the first time at the age of three.

"I am very proud of Aimee and we are very excited about the forthcoming show at Seawick" she said.

"She was up against some strong competition in the Devon final but pulled out all the stops to provide a performance which raised the roof and blew the judges away.

"The venue Aimee will be playing in has played host to the likes of Peter Andre, The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent finalists. It is a huge state of the art venue holding 3,000 people and will be the biggest stage Aimee has performed yet."
