AN EVESHAM woman has died after her car collided with a lorry.

Christine Guise, 64, was driving a blue Toyota Yaris along the B4084 when it crashed with a black MAN lorry near the junction of the turning for Cropthorne about 10am on Tuesday (November 6).

A non-emergency ambulance which was in the area was first on scene followed by a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, a paramedic officer and Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham.

Mrs Guise was taken to hospital but pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival, crews found a car that had suffered considerable damage. They immediately started resuscitation on the driver.

"Two paramedics travelled with the ambulance crew as the woman was taken on blue lights to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

"Sadly despite the best efforts, it was not possible to save her and she was confirmed dead shortly after arrival.

"The lorry driver, a man estimated to be in his 30s, was not injured and was discharged at scene."

Police closed the road for almost five hours while emergency services dealt with the crash and carried out investigation work before re-opening it at 2.45pm.

They are urging anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.

PC Lee Bluck is investigating the circumstance surrounding the collision. He said: "Our thoughts are with Mrs Guise's family and friends at this sad time.

"As with all fatal collisions, an investigation will take place to establish the cause of the crash.

"As part of the inquiry, it is vital we speak to any witnesses or anyone with information, including drivers who may have seen either of the vehicles involved prior to the collision."

Anyone with information is urged to call PC Bluck on 0300 333 3000.
