EVESHAM gymnast India-Rose Cox is celebrating after being crowned a regional champion at the 2012 West Midlands Regional Levels Championships, held at the Gymnastics and Martial Arts Centre in Birmingham.

The City of Worcester Gymnastics Club ace was among a host of members of the club who impressed at the event, which features competitors from areas as far afield as Telford, Stafford, Stoke and Hereford.

Ten-year-old India-Rose won gold in her competition to be crowned 2012 champion in the Level 3 aged 11/12 category.

Other City of Worcester winners were Finley Smith who gained an all-round bronze medal for third place in the Level 2 aged 12/13 category, Molly Horne who won silver for second place in the Level 4 aged 10/11 event and Lydia Biddulph who won gold for first place at Level 4 aged 12-plus.

All the hard work of all the girls, who train for up to 20 hours per week, has certainly paid off and thanks go to all their coaches who helped to prepare the gymnasts for the competitions.

Anyone who is interested in gymnastics at either competitive or recreational level is welcome to come along to the club's fully-fitted training facilities in Worcester or Malvern.
