A RADIO-MAD youngster is hoping to conquer the globe by attempting to become the world's youngest ever DJ at just six-years-old.

Amber Jacobs from Throckmorton will hope to set a new Guinness World Record when she hosts an online radio show live at The Swan Inn pub in Evesham on Sunday, October 28.

Since the age of three the Pinvin First School pupil has taken a huge liking to music and has learned various tricks of the trade in radio DJ'ing by playing songs to an audience on TBFM Online Radio Station with help from her dad Steve who also works on the station.

Amber hosts 'The Sunday Morning Service' every week from her home which involves running the radio decks, selecting which songs to play and introduce them.

TBFM Online was first set up in 2009 and has since grown to attract thousands of listeners from all over the world with the aim of promoting new and unsigned bands.

Amber's conquest to break the world record is part of a full day charity event hosted by the station with money being raised for Acorn's Children's Hospice and another children's charity yet to be announced.

The exact requirements Amber needs to fulfil to break the world record for youngest DJ are yet to be confirmed but her family are more than confident she will be the holder of the new record.

"Amber is a big music fan and from the age of two instead of listening to nursery rhymes she would rather put Kerrang on the TV and dance to the songs on there," Amber's mum Judi told the Observer.

"Monday to a Friday she's just a typical six-year-old girl playing dolls and going to school but then at weekends she becomes this rock chick.

"On the Sunday morning show she does everything such as queue the tracks, selects the songs and puts them on the software. We are very proud of her. This is something she has chose to do for herself and have not pushed her into it in anyway.

"It would be brilliant if Amber was to break the record and we've all got our fingers crossed it will happen. But for us the most important thing is to see the passion she has for it and the huge smile it puts on her face."

Amber's headteacher Sarah Boyce is also enormously proud of her talented pupil.

"Everyone at the school is delighted for Amber and we are all wishing her the best of luck on the day." she told the Observer

Amber's show will be broadcasted live on the day from 10am. To listen visit www.tbfmonline.co.uk.
