PUPILS at a Vale school had a day to remember when they celebrated the life of arguably the most famous children's author of all time.

The youngsters at Badsey First School went Roald Dahl crazy on Friday (September 28) by dressing as characters from his most famous novels.

During his lifetime Dahl wrote classic children's stories including The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, George's Marvellous Medicine, The Witches and Fantastic Mr Fox.

Headteacher Julie Jones said: "It was a lovely day and it made a change to see all the pupils dressed up in many different outfits rather than their usual school uniform."
