Wanderers fire a magnificent seven

LEAGUE newcomers Vale Wanderers produced an excellent performance to record their first win in Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Four as Foxall (3), Edgeworth (2) and Ainsworth (2) scored in a convincing 7-1 victory at Stratford United.

Anchor Harriers continued their strong start as goals from Slowinski (2), Nevin, Huggins, Quantrell and Heritage fired them to a 6-3 home win over Sun Inn, for whom Steger scored twice.

Elmley Castle won 3-1 at Bengeworth with goals from P Smaylen (2) and S Smaylen and Dragons won 3-1 at Campden thanks to strikes from Terry, Sinden and Mullins.

Tewkesbury Town Reserves top Division Three after Pettitt (3), Jordan and Driscoll scored in a 5-2 success at Ashton, for whom Bernado and Begley scored.

Ecosamba defeated visitors Pershore High Old Boys 3-2 in an entertaining match which saw Legg, Rahman and Leonard score for Ecosamba and Bower and Taylor net for Old Boys.

Gardeners Arms maintained their perfect start by consigning visitors Offenham Rovers to their first defeat of the season.

Goals from Mann (2) and Dyke (2) secured a 4-3 win despite Burrows bagging a hat-trick for Rovers.

Bear moved level at the top of Division Two with a 3-2 victory at WMK in which Piggott, Smith-Daniel and Davies scored for Bear and Witts and Sklennar were on the mark for WMK.

Andy Clements struck twice in Fladbury Athletic's 3-2 win at Apperley/Tewks Dynamos, whilst AC Olympia recorded a 3-0 home win over Tesco United thanks to goals from Barnes (2) and Elliott.

Alderton won 2-1 at Stour Excelsior with goals from Ellis and Reid after Featherstone had given Stour the lead.

In Division One, Broadway United comfortably won 7-1 at Eckington as Cooper (2), Jason Horsburgh (2), Craig, Jeffs and Magee got on the scoresheet, whilst Bretforton Old Boys also won 7-1 at Mickleton Rangers through goals from Dougie Wallace (3), Gayton (2), Brain and Payne.

Defford/Besford United drew 1-1 at home to Evesham WMC.

Bredon reached the second round of the Evesham Mechanical Services KO Cup with a 9-0 win at Ambi Allsports. As ever, Lee Diamond was amongst the goals as he netted a treble.

In a second round match, Division Three's Broadway United Reserves upset higher graded visitors Cheltenham Saints with a 3-2 win. Broadway led twice through Francis and Connor Corr, only for Saints to level through Allcock (2) but, with 20 seconds remaining in extra time, Corr struck a superb winner for the home side.

Lenches Lions progressed against hosts Salford Priors as goals from Burtenshaw (2), Evans and Burtoft clinched a 4-0 triumph and Alcester Town won 3-0 at Ambassador with goals from Greenwood, Beach and Saunders.

Badsey Recreation hit five without reply at Pebworth as Pearce and Trotman both scored twice.
