HUNDREDS of rowers are hoping to paddle their way to victory in the re-arranged Evesham Rowing Regatta tomorrow (Saturday).

The event was originally set to take place over two days in May, but heavy rain saw the River Avon rise and left organisers with no choice but to postpone it.

But a dry September means river levels are back to normal and everything is set for a day of highly competitive rowing along with plenty of fun and entertainment on the riverbank.

Rowing clubs from all corners of the country are set to travel to the Vale to take part in numerous races over the 1,000 metre upstream course.

Olympic gold-medalists Alex Gregory and Zac Purchase, who both used to train at Evesham Rowing Club, have also been invited to attend.
