TWO CARING staff members at a Vale playgroup have announced their retirement after working for the charity for decades.
Janet Arnold and Janet Taylor from Avonvale Playgroup based at Evesham Adventure Playground have decided to call it a day after working there for a combined total of 40 years.
The playgroup, which celebrated its 40th birthday this year, has grown over the decades to provide invaluable educational opportunities for children with speech difficulties, physical disabilities and life limiting illnesses.
Marie Salmon, secretary for the Avonvale playgroup said: "The two Janet's have given huge amounts of time and energy to the playgroup over the many years and made such a difference to so many young lives.
"On behalf of the committee, parents and children we would like to express our sincere thanks to their many years of commitment.
Following recent fund-raising efforts made by the Vale community to help secure the playgroup's short term future, The AvonVale Playgroup is holding a special open day on Friday, September 21 between 10.30am and 12pm as a thank-you gesture.
