Hi: 8° Lo:2° 7 day

A PAIR of ice-cream machines worth tens of thousands of pounds were stolen after thieves broke into two vans in Evesham.
The Carpigiani Super Uno machines were stolen between 5.30pm on Tuesday, August 21 and 6.30am on Wednesday, August 22 from the ice-cream vans parked in a farmyard off Badsey Road.
The machines, which are used to make soft ice cream, were carrying serial numbers 028309 and 227811 on them and are valued at about £10,000 each.
PC James Wood, from Evesham police station and who is investigating the incident, urged witnesses with information to come forward.
"The owner had been looking to sell one of their vans and it is possible that whoever stole the machines was aware of this and that the machines were stolen to order," he said.
"They are incredibly expensive and we are not only keen to track down these machines and return them to their owner but also to find those responsible for stealing them.
"I would urge anyone who has bought one recently or knows of any for sale to check the machines for the serial numbers.
"They are made of stainless steel and measure about 3ft wide, 2ft deep and 2.5ft tall - so a number of people and a large vehicle would have been needed to remove them from the vans.
"I would also appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious people or vehicles in the area of Badsey Road last week to call us with the details."
Anyone with any information about the incident should call PC Wood on 0300 333 3000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
