REFORMED Evesham United Ladies overcame a slow start to secure a dramatic 6-5 friendly success at Studley Ladies on Sunday.

Boosted by a few bodies from Evesham United u18 girls, the team took to the field but were slow to settle initially and found themselves 3-0 inside the opening exchanges.

However, the introduction of Katie Armento and Lesley Smith, combined with a reshuffle in defence, led to a superb fightback that saw Evesham go in 4-3 ahead at the break. Beth Guy, Armento, Smith and Hannah Campbell with the goals.

Studley regrouped in the second half and pushed forward, levelling the game twice, with Campbell getting her second to inbetween to make it 5-5 with ten minutes left.

Evesham were reduced to ten men in the closing stages following a disagreement with the referee and Evesham took full advantage, pushing forward to score the winner courtesy of Laura Bradley.

THE LADIES are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the forthcoming season in the Hereford and Worcester County League.

Training takes place at the Jubilee Stadium at 7pm with matches on Sunday afternoons.
