A RETIRED lawyer who was involved in many high profile court cases during his career has turned his hand to novel writing after publishing his first book.
Martin Wilson QC, from Broadway, signed copies of his new book titled The Little Book of Anger on Monday (August 6) at Blandford Books store in the village's High Street.
Featuring 30 chapters and published by Troubador, the book is about the many aggravating and irrational aspects of modern life including pet hates such as people chewing gum and people expressing the wrong use of the English language.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the book, it has been harder than what I thought it would be but a great experience," Mr Wilson told the Observer. "It's been great having to work without being under pressure at all.
"I have always enjoyed writing and my retirement has given me the time to sit down and write it and put it all together. Its been quite an eye opener for me.
"I am very keen on the correct use of the English language and the annoyance I have of people not doing so features quite prominently in the book.
"And judging by the feedback I've had so far, the same kind of things seem to annoy a lot of other readers too. The book is not intended as a literary version of Grumpy Old Men and Grumpy Old Women but if you liked those then you'll love this."
Mr Wilson has been helped by artist Jeremy Houghton, also from Broadway, who has helped him by designing the book's front and back cover.
"To have had such a talented artist working on the book has been great. I thank Jeremy for his time and effort, he's done a great job."
The Little Book of Anger is available to buy at book stores in and around the Vale and online including Amazon costing £7.99.
