THIS year's Evesham Pie and Ale Festival will take place on Saturday, September 15, organisers have announced.
The event, now in its second year, attracted more than 1,000 people to the town last September and this year is set to be even bigger and better.
It will once again take place in Market Square and Abbey Park between midday and 8pm and be a celebration of all things local with a selection of some of the best food and drink on offer around the Vale of Evesham.
Of course the focus will be on pies and ales with a pie competition set to be judged between 2pm and 3pm and live music and entertainment running from 4pm until the close.
Sadler's Ales from Stourbridge will be on hand to supply the ale along with breweries from Wyre Piddle and Cheltenham.
In total, nine different draught local beers are expected along with plenty of other bottled brews.
There will also be a whole host of family-friendly entertainment, including Morris dancing, ferret racing, Punch and Judy and a circus skills workshop.
Festival organiser Vicky Lawson said: "Last year was such a success that we knew we had to run it again. Evesham has a great events calendar and the Pie & Ale Festival enhances that by bringing people into the town centre for the day.
"And it’s not just pies and beer, it’s a family day and the perfect way for people of all ages to spend the day together. It’s totally free to come along and there will be even more stalls than last year, so we are hoping to see even more people than last year."
The festival has been organised by the Vale of Evesham Commerce and Tourism Association (VECTA), which is a voluntary group of local business people working together to help bring business and tourism to Evesham.
Any local food or drink producers keen to be involved in the festival can still contact Vicky on 01386 442323 or info@impactsecurity.co.uk.
