EVESHAM UNITED U10s saw off competition from seven talented Cheltenham area teams to win Lakeside FC's Festival of Football, which was held at the Dowty Sports Ground in Cheltenham on Saturday.
After beating tournament favourites Cleeve Colts in the semi-final penalty shoot-out thanks to excellent spot kicks from Scott Davies and Ryan Beasley, along with a 100 per cent clean sheet record for goalkeeper Aiden Shelton, Evesham took on tournament hosts Lakeside in the final.
The final was played in tough conditions of heat and gusting wind, but Evesham were in determined mood and took the lead when Daniel Walker fired home following a low driven corner from JD Cole.
The Robins' Max Danby doubled the lead midway through the second half with an excellent solo effort and some solid defending from Sam Rogers and Jordan Blundell ensured there was no comeback from the hosts and Evesham clinched their second trophy of the season.
