A PERSHORE man was left with a broken jaw after he was assaulted outside a nightclub.

The 23-year-old was with his girlfriend outside Subtone Nightclub on the Promenade in Cheltenham about 2am on Sunday (July 1) when the incident took place.

Police said a man had spoken to the couple in what was thought to be an aggressive manner. When they asked him to stop he then pushed the victim to the floor and kicked him in the head.

He was left with serious facial injuries, including a broken jaw, and was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment.

The attacker is described as about 6ft tall with dark hair and possibly a moustache. He was wearing a dark blue shirt and black trousers.

Anyone who saw the incident or has information that could help the investigation is urged to call Gloucestershire Police on 101.

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
