THE OWNER of a charity shop in Evesham has been left fuming after an expensive leather jacket was stolen from a window display.

The incident took place yesterday (Tuesday) at the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust shop when a Harley Davidson jacket was removed from the shop in Library Arcade between 3.30pm and 3.45pm.

The jacket is worth £100 and shop owner Sue Sollis has urged anyone with any information as to its whereabouts to come forward as soon as possible after she was alerted to the theft by a customer.

"I'm fuming inside," she told the Observer. "It is hard and sad to think someone could entitle themselves to the jacket just like that and take off with it.

"There was a lot of interest in it and it would have raised a good amount of money for the charity which supports people living with leukaemia.

"If anyone has been offered the jacket or sees it on ebay or something then please get in touch with the police."

A spokeswoman from West Mercia Police said the incident had been reported and officers were looking into it.

Anyone with any information should contact West Mercia Police on 101, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or by calling the shop direct on 01386 421424.
