Tributes paid to crash victims

TRIBUTES have been paid to three people killed in a crash near Pershore at the weekend.

Luke Morris, 22, and his partner Elizabeth Stanley, aged 24, died along with his sister Rebecca Townsend, 26, after their car hit a tree at Avon Bank about 12.35am on Saturday (June 9).

Mrs Townsend's husband, Craig, who was also in the car remains in a critical but stable condition at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Elizabeth and Luke leave a three-year-old daughter, Ella Rebecca Ann Morris, while Elizabeth also had a son from a previous relationship, six-year-old Wyatt Philip Stanley.

A tribute from her family said: "Elizabeth was a bubbly girl and a loving daughter. Her life was dedicated to her children and she and Luke loved spending days out with them.

"They also spent many happy hours with Becky and Craig. She attended Birchen Coppice Primary School in Kidderminster before moving onto Harry Cheshire High School. She was always doing something different, willing to give anything a try. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. She also loved animals, particularly her two dogs."

Mrs Townsend, who is from Wick near Pershore, has two children from a previous relationship, James, six, and Aimee, four.

Luke and Becky leave behind father Paul Morris, stepmother Lucy Morris, mum Josephine Platt and stepfather Lee Platt.

A tribute from The Morris family said: "Luke and Becky leave behind an extended family and many friends who, along with their parents and step parents, are devastated by what's happened.

"Luke and Becky were inseparable from an early age. They were always there for each other. We are all very proud of them; nobody had a bad word to say about either of them."

"Both went to St Ambrose Catholic Primary School before moving onto Wolverly CE Secondary School. Becky had worked as a carer whilst Luke worked as an electrician for Powertest, which took him all over the country. They loved animals and of course were dedicated to their children, who they loved dearly."

Their father Paul added: "The proudest day of my life was when I gave Becky away on her wedding day; she looked so beautiful."

All family members have expressed how no words can describe the devastation they all feel at the loss of three members of their family. They will be greatly missed.

Police officers continue to investigate the cause of the collision and are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Anyone who believes they may have information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 20S 090612.
