FANS of country music are in for a treat later this month with an evening of toe tapping fun in Evesham.
Knoxville Highway will be performing classics songs from the likes of Johnny Cash, Kenny Rodgers and Hank Williams on Saturday, June 23 at the Evesham Arts Centre on Victoria Avenue starting at 8pm.
The six-piece band are building a reputation in venues throughout the West Midlands and consist of vocalist and guitarist Bob Gessey, Alan Garwood, Ken Stratford, Heather Gessey, Stuart Neal and Alan Nichols.
Award-winning singer/songwriter Bob Gessey who has appeared in local radio heads the band and told the Observer the band are much looking forward to their Evesham gig.
"The show is a foot tapping sing along journey through the heart and soul of country music and features classic songs made famous by by the likes of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson right through to Glen Campbell, The Eagles and the modern country greats," he said.
"Our drummer is Alan Nichol who is from the Evesham area originally so its a bit of a homecoming for him it promises to be a a great night with audience participation very much welcome."
