Hi: 9° Lo:4° 7 day

EVESHAM Wheeler Simon Wix's week of intensive time trialling ended in style at Monmouth on Sunday when he completed the 25-mile course in 55mins, 18secs, placing him 12th out of 120 riders.
Wix's week had started last Tuesday when he rode the Worcester St John's 19.5-mile in a time of 45mins, 2secs, before last Thursday he rode VC Sevale's 10-mile TT in 24mins, 27secs.
On Saturday he clocked 22mins, 23secs in Stratford's 10-mile time trial held on the Harvington course and also riding in the Stratford event was Steven Goodbier, who recorded a time of 23mins, 2secs.
Fellow Wheeler Tracy Dresch, riding for the Shutt Squadra Donne women's racing team the previous weekend, faced some gruelling weather conditions in the Bedford 2-day Series.
In a strong field that featured some of the UK's top women cyclists including Junior World Road Race Champion Lucy Garner and Paralympic gold medallist Sarah Storey, Dresch held her own to finish 51st out of 90 starters, helping her team into 11th place in the team competition.
The Wheelers' midweek run put in a creditable performance with a run to Hampton Lucy, braving bad weather and mechanical problems, as the riders totalled up 52 hard earned miles.
The Sunday Club run saw 38 Wheelers head out to Halford in Warwickshire as the riders left the Vale through Badsey, The Littletons and on to Pebworth.
Pushed along by a favourable tailwind, the villages of Long Marston, Preston, Wimpstone and Crimscote passed quickly before the stop at Halford.
The riders returned to The Vale through Ilmington, Mickleton and the Littletons to complete a trip of 45 miles.
Sunday's club run is to Wichenford and will leave the High Street at 9.15am.
