POLICE have named the three people who were killed in a car accident near Pershore in the early hours of Saturday morning (June 9).

Luke Morris, 22, who was driving a black Nissan 200 SX Coupe when it came off the road and crashed into a tree on the B4084, and his partner Elizabeth Stanley, 24 lost their lives after the incident which happened near Pershore College. The couple were from Kidderminster.

Luke's sister Rebecca Townsend, who was a back seat passenger at the time of the crash, also died after she was taken to hospital. The 26-year-old was from Wick in Pershore.

A man, who was also a back seat passenger, remains in a critical but stable condition at the Queen's Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham carrying multiple injuries.

Police officers are still investigating the cause of the crash and have urged witnesses to come forward.

Inspector Julian Smith said: "While everything suggests that no other vehicles were involved in this collision, we need to speak to anyone who may have any information about it.

"Tragically, three people from the same family have been killed and we need to provide answers for their next of kin, so please get in touch if you can help. We would particularly like to speak to anyone who saw a black Nissan coupe driving on the B4084 shortly after midnight."

Anyone with any information about the incident should call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 20S 090612.
