THE RECENT wet weather has taken its toll on golf matches, including Evesham GC seniors’ recent fixtures against Bransford and The Vale.
However, last Wednesday’s home match against Puckrup Hall was able to go ahead as the sun finally shone again and Evesham welcomed the Puckrup Manor team to Craycombe Links.
All seniors matches are enjoyable contests and, historically, none more so than with Puckrup.
On this occasion Evesham ran out convincing 5-1 winners as current Evesham seniors captain Mike Abraham continued to lead from the front, winning his game 5&3 with playing partner Ray Smart.
Mike Whiteford and Bryan Rogers were even more convincing winners at 6&3, whilst Peter Edmunds/Richard Saville, Neil Croft/Martin Williams and Ian Facer/Peter Ratledge all won.
And the sole losing couple? As one of them was the Evesham seniors’ press officer, they shall remain nameless!
