ABOUT a hundred runners pounded the banks of the River Avon at the weekend to raise plenty for Diabetes UK.
Saturday's (March 31) Hampton Ferry Charity Race and Fun Run raised a total of £800 on the day but the total is expected to rise about £1,000 once all the sponsorship money has been collected.
Organiser Fran Webb said she was pleased with the success of the day and thanked everyone who turned out.
"All the money raised goes to Diabetes UK which will go on research and help find a cure and to help people living with disease," she said.
"It was a really nice day and for some of the runners it was their second or third run at this event so its nice to have a little following now.
"We have already got a date planned for next year's race and everyone is feeling very postive and happy about it all."
